🧭 whale watching boat tour!
whales? 🐋 check! ✅
i can now cross whale watching off my bucket list, courtesy of the fine folks at puget sound express. we saw a pod of orcas, along with sea lions, sea otters, and tufted puffins! soooooooo much fun!
Our captain & first mate expertly guided us from port townsend up through the san juan islands on their 56-foot vessel red head. this 8-hour tour also included a lunch stop at the town of friday harbor — we chose delectable salmon dishes at downriggers. yum!
in may 2026 i had the opportunity to work & play in western washington state for a couple of weeks. this is the 10th of 18 mini-adventures i took with southern minnesota guy as we made the most of our time in america’s beautiful pacific northwest!
my trail name’s mythic and in 2026 i’m continuing my multi-year thru-hike (m.y.t.h.) of the pacific crest trail. as i prepare to return to the pct (and hopefully tackle other section- and thru-hikes in the future), i'm going on day hikes to help keep in trail shape!
