🧭 elwha river!
in may 2026 i had the opportunity to work & play in western washington state for a couple of weeks. this is the 1st of 18 mini-adventures i took with southern minnesota guy as we made the most of our time in america’s beautiful pacific northwest!
our first chance to explore was a hike along the elwha river at the north end of the olympic peninsula. the elwha is recently notable for the removal of hydroelectric dams nearly 15 years ago to restore historic salmon runs.
my trail name’s mythic and in 2026 i’m continuing my multi-year thru-hike (m.y.t.h.) of the pacific crest trail. as i prepare to return to the pct (and hopefully tackle other section- and thru-hikes in the future), i'm going on day hikes to help keep in trail shape!
