🎓 tedesco environmental learning corridor!
on january 4th, southern minnesota guy & i explored a very cool park in story county, iowa — traditional territory of the Jíwere–Ñút’achi Máyaⁿ (Otoe-Missouria), Báxoje Máyaⁿ (Ioway), and Očhéthi Šakówiŋ nations.
much more than a traditional local park, the tedesco environmental learning corridor is a collaboration between city, county, university, and state partners and a real-world stream restoration project. right up my environmental engineering alley!
it was a great experience even with a 0° F windchill; i hope to return later this year when everything’s green — and warm!
my trail name’s mythic and in 2026 i’m continuing my multi-year thru-hike (m.y.t.h.) of the pacific crest trail. as i prepare to return to the pct (and hopefully tackle other section- and thru-hikes in the future), i'm going on day hikes to help keep in trail shape!
