day hike!

🦬 minneopa state park!

on october 26, 2025, i visited one of our favorite state parks outside of mankato, minnesota — traditional territory of the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ, Wahpekute, and Wahpeton nations — with southern minnesota guy.

minneopa state park is divided into two distinct sections. the southern section features the ranger station, large picnic shelter, restrooms, and beautiful double water falls of minneopa creek. the northern section is home to a herd of bison, a historic mill, camping opportunities, and several miles of hiking trails. it’s a pretty special place that we’ve visited countless times over the years.

my trail name’s mythic and in 2025 i continued my multi-year thru-hike (m.y.t.h.) of the pacific crest trail. as i make plans to return to the pct (and hopefully tackle other section- and thru-hikes in the future), i'm going on day hikes to help keep in trail shape!
