day hike!

đź‘» lake bemidji state park!

driving home from our trip up north i needed to stop for a business meeting on zoom. southern minnesota guy had done some research and found that the lake bemidji state park visitor center provided all the amenities: tables, chairs, outlets, wifi, and a quiet space.

with me sadly unable to explore this beautiful park, [REDACTED] borrowed my camera and recorded a “mythic” hike on my behalf. at the end of their brief adventure we jumped back in the car and continued our trip home.

it was fun to later see the footage you’re watching right now, but hopefully i can return someday to experience it firsthand!

lake bemidji is located in beltrami county, minnesota — home to indigenous speakers of the Southern Anishinaabemowin (Ojibwe), Dakȟóta (Western Dakota), Dakhóta (Eastern Dakota), Lakȟótiyapi (Lakota), and Saulteaux languages.

my trail name’s mythic and in 2026 i continued my multi-year thru-hike (m.y.t.h.) of the pacific crest trail. as i plan my 2027 return to the pct, i'm going on day hikes & bikes to help keep in trail shape!
