day hike!
⛏️ myre-big island state park!
on december 27, 2025 i put on my microspikes and took an icy hike in freeborn county, minnesota — traditional territory of the Očhéthi Šakówiŋ and Wahpeton nations.
it felt fantastic to get outside, stretch my legs, and breathe fresh air during a holiday season that was fun but almost entirely indoors. some kind of traction device was absolutely necessary for this hike due to fluctuating temperatures near freezing turning trails from snowy wonder to icy treachery.
my trail name’s mythic and in 2025 i continued my multi-year thru-hike (m.y.t.h.) of the pacific crest trail. as i make plans to return to the pct (and hopefully tackle other section- and thru-hikes in the future), i'm going on day hikes to help keep in trail shape!
