❄️ collinwood regional park!

cross country skiing on beautifully groomed trails was our final “winter weekend getaway” activity, the afternoon of february 22nd at collinwood regional park near cokato in wright county, minnesota — traditional territory of the Wahpekute and Očhéthi Šakówiŋ nations.

just like at the sherburne national wildlife refuge earlier in the day, frigid wind chills eventually compromised our enjoyment slightly, but well-tended trails and beautiful surroundings made this park well worth the stop. 10/10 would recommend!

this was the last of 6 mini-adventures during a super-fun, late-february trip for me and southern minnesota guy. it was chock full of micro-spike hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, state park cabin sleeping, basic camp cooking, and amazing restaurant food. check out the other videos if you haven’t already!

my trail name’s mythic and in 2026 i’m continuing my multi-year thru-hike (m.y.t.h.) of the pacific crest trail. as i prepare to return to the pct (and hopefully tackle other section- and thru-hikes in the future), i'm going on day hikes to help keep in trail shape!
